Elizabeth Holmes, former CEO of Theranos, wants to delay her 11-year prison sentence and has cited the birth of her second child as a reason.

Her appeal against her conviction for misleading investors about her company's blood-testing technology is currently underway, and a hearing is scheduled for March 17th.

Court documents filed last week didn't reveal the gender or birth date of her second child, but it's known that she was pregnant during her sentencing on November 18th, 2022.

She had previously delayed the start of her trial to give birth to her first child, a son, and has now had two children with her current partner, William “Billy” Evans.

She met William “Billy” Evans after her breakup with former lover and business partner Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani.

Balwani was also convicted of fraud and conspiracy in a separate trial and is seeking to delay the start of his own 13-year prison sentence.

Holmes' lawyers argue that her conviction is likely to be overturned due to errors and abuses made during her trial.

And that her unblemished record while on bail for the past four and a half years demonstrates that she is not a danger to the community or a flight risk.
