Bachmann-Turner Overdrive and Brave Belt drummer Robbie Bachmann has died at age 69.

His brother Randy Bachman confirmed the news on Twitter, describing Robbie as "an integral cog in our rock'n'roll machine."

And writing that "BTO's back is banging... on the other hand Mummy." , joined by father and brother Gary". No cause of death is given.

Robin Bachman was born in 1953 in Winnipeg, Canada. He and his brother started playing music in their youth, and Robbie played in a few bands in Winnipeg.

With Randy he played in the famous Winnipeg rock band The Guess Who. Brave Belt recorded two albums, released in 1971 and 1972.

Before changing their name to Bachman-Turner Overdrive in 1973 after Allen's departure.

Bachman-Turner Overdrive's 1973 self-titled debut charted at No. 9 in Canada and No. 70 on the Billboard Rock Chart.
